Who can apply?
The course is intended for people with an interest in counselling and in particular working with bereaved clients. You will need to have completed a 30 hour basic counselling skills course or be able to demonstrate training or experience at an equivalent level. You will need to have a level of personal awareness and emotional maturity suitable to the demands of bereavement counselling skills training. You should not have been bereaved of anyone important to you in the last 2 years.
The course is aimed at applicants who are willing to become voluntary bereavement counsellors with BBS. Applications are also welcome from anyone who would find bereavement counselling skills useful in their work place or in another voluntary organisation. Places on the course are limited and priority will be given to those applicants who want to work for BBS following the course.
Selection for the course will be by application form and informal interview. Two references will be required.

Counsellors with a diploma in counselling and 2nd year students on a counselling diploma course. We will also be pleased to hear from people who are able to demonstrate training or experience at an equivalent level. You should not have been bereaved of anyone important to you in the last two years. |

COURSE DATES: Saturday 5 September. Tuesday 8 September. Saturday 12 September. Tuesday 15 September.
Interviews for the course will take place in the summer. |
