Bereavement Counselling Training Courses
The courses, organised by Bradford Bereavement Support (BBS), are intended for people with an interest in counselling and in working with bereaved clients.
The courses are particularly aimed at applicants who are willing to become voluntary bereavement counsellors with BBS. However some places will be available for applicants who would find bereavement counselling skills useful in their work place or in another voluntary organisation.
Applications would be welcome from people able to work in a language other than English. BBS is receiving an increasing number of requests for bereavement counselling in other languages, particularly from the Asian community.
Selection for the courses will be by application form and informal interview. Two references will be required.
About BBS BBS aims to provide high quality counselling and support for people in the Bradford area who have been bereaved. We aim to offer everyone equal access to our service irrespective of age, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, disability or culture.
Established in 1984 by a group of concerned volunteers, Bradford Bereavement Support has developed a team of experienced voluntary counsellors who offer individual bereavement counselling. Counsellors are carefully selected and assessed. They receive continuing training and regular supervision by qualified professional counsellors.
The organisation is non-profit making, has a voluntary management committee and is entirely dependant upon a range of grants and donations.
